A major WhatsApp outage is leaving users unable to connect to the popular messenger app.
WhatsApp went down earlier this morning, as fans flooded rival social media sites saying the app isn’t working.
At the time of writing, independent outage monitor Down Detector has registered nearly 5,000 reports from users insisting WhatsApp is experiencing an outage.
A map on the site showed the UK, US and large areas of Europe are affected by the connection issues. Instagram outage issues have also hit parts of Asia.

One user writes: “Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp DOWN. I feel handless.”
Another posted: “When you can’t tell if WhatsApp is down because nobody is texting you.”
One Twitter user joked that it was time to relax now that the social media sites are down: “Seems like all socials owned by Zuckie are down…. #whatsappdown #FacebookDown time to relax?”
“Please note that WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram are down at the moment worldwide and there is no issue with your internet connection :)” somebody else comments.
At the time of writing, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram representatives are yet to acknowledge the outage on Twitter.
